When AI no longer remains confined to screens, what does it take to truly enter and reshape the physical world?
Marking its debut at BEYOND Expo—Asia’s largest technology innovation and ecosystem event—BEYOND HACK DAY has officially opened applications for its “AI Innovative Hardware” track.
Co-organized with AttraX, Moce.ai, Infplane, Makera, JLC Technology Group, and the Xinghuo Jihua (星火计划), this year’s challenge is built around the theme “Empowering the Physical World with AI Agents.” It calls on global developers, creators, entrepreneurs, university teams, and solopreneurs to turn ideas into working prototypes—spanning robotic arms, intelligent terminals, desktop devices, and even humanoid robots.
Track Theme / Challenge Statements
At its core, the competition asks a critical industry question: If AI Agents can perceive, reason, and act, how will they manifest as tangible executors in the real world?
Within the AI Innovative Hardware track, participants are challenged to innovate around the concept of “Physical Agents,” designing hardware “bodies” that enable AI to interact seamlessly with the real world.. From robotics to smart terminals and automated systems, teams are tasked with building functional prototypes under extreme time constraints, creating closed-loop human-machine interactions that go beyond simple automation—toward true understanding and execution.
Event Schedule
The BEYOND HACK DAY is structured as a 72-hour intensive creation cycle:
May 28 | Technical Enablement & Official Launch:
The day begins with technical onboarding, including Moce Physical Agent access, Makera CNC training, and AIPC large-model integration support from Infplane. The official hackathon kicks off in the afternoon.
May 29 | Development & Optimization:
Teams enter a full-day sprint, focusing on hardware-software integration, rapid prototyping, and continuous iteration.
May 30 | Demonstration & Evaluation:
Projects take center stage through live demos, roadshows, and expert evaluation, followed by the awards ceremony.
Professional Evaluation and Incentives
Projects will be rigorously evaluated across five dimensions: Innovation (25%), Practicality (25%), Creative Engagement (20%), Social Impact (10%), and Technical Completion (20%).
Beyond the selection of First, Second, and Third-place winners, the committee has established specialized honors such as “Best Creative Idea”, “Best Practice” and “Best Outlier” to reward unconventional breakthroughs. Notably, award-winning teams will be granted a “fast-track” entry into the finals of the JLC Technology Group’s “Starfire” Innovation Competition, providing a pathway to compete for million-dollar innovation prizes.
Participation and Registration
BEYOND HACK DAY serves as a global stage for AI developers, hardware engineers, product designers, and startup teams to transition AI from digital concepts to physical reality.
Interested parties and innovation teams are invited to complete their registration via the official BEYOND Expo channels. As the AI Innovative Hardware track approaches its official start, BEYOND Expo continues to champion the creators who are bridging the gap between digital intelligence and the physical world.
